I grew up in Washington County, Maryland, on two acres complete with a garden, chickens, an orchard, and even a cow or two grazing in the absentee landowner’s barnyard across the lane.
God, family, and country roads were an integral part of my upbringing. As a fourth generation descendant of the area, I became intimately acquainted with the highways and byways around Boonsboro and beyond. It was leisurely, local travel–the sunny day ride–that not only helped to create new family memories, it provided an opportunity to preserve the old ones as well. I wrote and illustrated the children's book Our Sunny Day Ride as a fanciful recalling of my rural upbringing.
I blog here about all things sunny, which could include my book, nature, the simpler things in life, and God--the creator of all life.
